Bae Jung-son

Leader of the Sambyeolcho who rejected the return to Gaegyeong and resisted from Jindo

When Wonjong returned to Gaegyeong in 1270 and disbanded the Sambyeolcho, he enthroned Wang On, Marquis Seunghwa, and moved with over a thousand ships to Jindo, where he built Yongjangseong. The Sambyeolcho controlled the southern coast and, in a letter to Japan, called themselves the government of Goryeo, but he was killed when the Goryeo-Mongol forces took Jindo in 1271.
