Even after the 1728 rebellion some hard-line Soron refused to accept Yeongjo’s legitimacy. In 1755 Yun Ji and others in exile were found to have posted placards in Naju and were executed; slanders found in an examination paper soon after led to the punishment of many Soron, leaving the Noron in control.
