King Mu of Baekje

Thirtieth king of Baekje, who built Mireuksa Temple at Iksan

He built Mireuksa at Iksan, and some scholars think he planned to move the capital there. The Seodong legend in the Samguk yusa says he was Seodong, a yam digger who married Princess Seonhwa, daughter of King Jinpyeong of Silla. But the reliquary inscription found in Mireuksa’s west pagoda in 2009 says the queen who built the pagoda was the daughter of the Baekje noble Sataek Jeokdeok. He attacked Silla frequently.
