Gwanchang

Silla hwarang whose lone charges and death at the Battle of Hwangsanbeol roused the Silla army to victory

He was the son of General Pumil. When Gyebaek’s picked troops had beaten the Silla army four times at Hwangsanbeol in 660, he charged the enemy lines alone. Gyebaek spared him for his youth and sent him back, but he charged again and was beheaded. Stirred by his death, the Silla army broke the Baekje force.
