Baek I-jeong
Scholar who studied Neo-Confucianism in Yuan while attending King Chungseon and taught it to Yi Je-hyeon and others
In 1298 he went with King Chungseon to the Yuan capital Yanjing and stayed ten years, studying Neo-Confucianism and bringing home many Cheng-Zhu texts. A disciple of An Hyang, he helped root Neo-Confucianism in Goryeo; Yi Je-hyeon and Bak Chung-jwa were among his students. He was the bridge by which the learning An Hyang introduced grew into the creed of the new scholar-officials.
